The Lavender Pot

Cottage grown Lavender in Hand Thrown Pots in Lincolnshire

About The Lavender Pot

Founded in 2020, The Lavender Pot was established by Carrie Morris, who in 2015 obtained an RHS level 2 Diploma in Horticulture at the Manea School of Gardening in Cambridgeshire.

Now specialising in hardy lavenders, Carrie raises every lavender plant personally – from propagation, to growing on and pruning, to establish strong, well shaped, pest and disease resistant, mature lavender plants ready for your garden.

All the lavenders are grown here at the lavender nursery in the village of Fulletby, near Horncastle, in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, using Carrie’s own stock plants. A large variety of cultivars are grown, in a wide range of sizes, to suit every pot and patch in your garden. Whether a single specimen for a patio pot, or multiple plants for low hedging, The Lavender Pot has lavenders suit your needs. Grown here in the county of Lincolnshire you can be assured that your plants are suited to your climate, and have not travelled miles to point of sale, or have been through any undue stress.

In 2019 Carrie began her training in ceramics, and she now makes her own hand thrown terracotta plant pots, operating from her small cottage pottery. Every lavender is grown on in their own terracotta pot. When potted, lavenders prefer terracotta due to its drainage and insulation properties. Terracotta replicates the conditions they would enjoy if grown in their native Mediterranean climate. The pots are made with frost resistant terracotta clay and can be outside all year round. The pots come in a variety of sizes, as do the lavenders, from young plants to more mature specimens.

The lavenders are available at plant fairs throughout Lincolnshire, see β€˜Events’ page for information and dates, and they are also available at various stockists in the wolds area. Mail orders are not taken as yet, but this will be reviewed in time.

Environmental Promise

The Lavender Pot cares about environmental waste and will re-use pots after thorough cleaning and disinfection between each batch of plants. Pots that are at their life’s end are recycled. Heated greenhouses are not used, as The Lavender Pot grows hardy plants, so the nursery’s carbon footprint is very small. Where possible only peat free compost is used, and the plants are grown without chemicals, pesticides or herbicides.
